Who we are
Kalkulo.eu is an informational website that provides free financial calculators for several European countries. This policy describes what data we collect when you visit the site and how we process it, in line with the General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679, "GDPR") and Malta's Data Protection Act (Chapter 586 of the Laws of Malta).
What data we collect
- Anonymous browsing data collected via Google Analytics 4 (GA4): pages visited, duration, device and approximate geographic location (at city level). Your IP address is anonymised before processing.
- Data you enter yourself into a calculator, or into the "Save a note for yourself" field on a calculator page. Calculations run in your browser. The email you type into the "Save a note for yourself" field is written only to your own browser's local storage, so the page can show it back to you. It is not transmitted to us or to any third party, and we never receive it.
Cookies and consent
We use our own first-party consent banner together with Google's "Consent Mode v2". On your first visit you will see a banner with two options:
- Essentials only: only the cookies needed for the site to work. Analytics is not loaded.
- Accept all: allows analytics cookies (GA4).
Your choice is saved in your browser's local storage. You can change it at any time by clearing the site data in your browser.
No advertising
This site displays no advertising. We load no ad network, ad-measurement or ad-personalisation script, we set no advertising or personalisation cookies and identifiers, and we share no data with advertising partners. Because there is no advertising, the consent banner never asks you for advertising consent, and we do not operate or embed any third-party consent management platform.
Third parties
We share data with the following processors only when you accept all cookies:
- Google LLC (Google Analytics). Privacy policy.
- Cloudflare, Inc. (website hosting and content delivery). Privacy policy.
Where these providers transfer data outside the European Economic Area, the transfer is protected by an appropriate GDPR Chapter V safeguard, such as the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
Your rights (GDPR)
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Malta's Data Protection Act (Chapter 586 of the Laws of Malta) you have the right:
- To access your personal data
- To rectification or erasure of your data
- To object to processing
- To data portability
- To restriction of processing
- To withdraw your consent at any time
To exercise any of these rights, write to us at hola@kalkulo.eu. We will respond within 30 days at the latest.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Office of the Information and Data Protection Commissioner (IDPC) in Malta, the supervisory authority: idpc.org.mt. You may also contact the data protection authority in your country of residence.
Data retention
Analytics data is retained for 14 months (the GA4 default setting). Entries from the "Save a note for yourself" field stay in your browser's local storage, not on our servers, so there is nothing on our side to delete. Clear this site's data in your browser to remove them.
Minors
The site is not intended for children. In Malta, the age of digital consent for information society services is 13. We do not knowingly collect data from persons below this age.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect legal or technical changes. The date of the latest update appears at the top of this document.
